COMPASS is an online programme which aims to support people in managing the challenges of living with a long-term condition. COMPASS is based on research which shows the benefit of combining mental and physical healthcare. It is made up of 11 online sessions, which aim to help manage different aspects of living with long-term conditions.
COMPASS is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). CBT is an effective and recommended treatment for helping people manage long-term conditions, low mood and anxiety.
Trained healthcare professionals support users during their COMPASS journey. This will be at regular time points and may be done by phone or online message.
The COMPASS programme can be used flexibly. It uses interactive tasks and user responses to make the programme relevant to user experiences.
COMPASS can be accessed at any time, from anywhere. All that is needed is a computer, laptop, tablet or smart phone and access to the internet, to log in to the website.
Users can use COMPASS at their own pace in a way that suits them and their lifestyle. Our recommendation is that users log in at least once a week over a 12 week period.
